Häufig gestellte Fragen

What sensors does the CIL162 16mm M12 lens support?

The CIL162 supports 1/1.8″ to 1/1.7″ sensors including the Sony IMX226 and ON Semiconductor AR0821. It resolves up to 10MP across an 8.8mm designed image circle, with 10mm maximum coverage.

How much IR focus shift does the CIL162 have?

The CIL162 has less than 6μm focus shift from visible to 850nm. That is low enough that the lens stays in focus when the camera switches between day and night modes.

Is the CIL162 suitable for license plate recognition (LPR)?

Yes. At 16mm EFL and only -1% distortion, the CIL162 gives the geometric control and resolution needed for LPR at typical working distances. Pair it with an 8MP+ sensor if you want the best character separation.

What cameras are mechanically compatible with the CIL162?

FLIR Blackfly S, Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye LE, The Imaging Source M12, and Basler Dart S-mount cameras all mount the CIL162 directly. works with the Commonlands CLA018 holder (10-13mm tall mount) and other compatible M12 mounts.

Does the CIL162 16mm M12 lens ship same day from the US?

Yes. Orders placed before 12 PM PST ship same day from the San Diego warehouse.

Can the CIL162 be used for outdoor day/night applications?

Yes. The IR-corrected all-glass design, IP67 sealing, and VIS-to-NIR focus shift under 6μm make the CIL162 a good outdoor day/night lens.

The CIL162 is a 16mm IR-corrected M12 lens for 1/1.8" to 1/1.7" sensors such as the Sony IMX226 and ON Semiconductor AR0821. It resolves up to 10MP at F/2.0 with less than 6μm focus shift from visible to 850nm. That is the spec that matters if the camera has to switch between day and night modes without refocusing.

The 31° field of view at an 8.9mm image circle puts this lens firmly in telephoto territory for M12. Distortion is only -1% at 8.9mm, which is low enough for dimensional measurement and license plate recognition without leaning on software correction. The designed image circle is 8.8mm with a 10mm maximum, so the lens covers 1/1.7" sensors with margin. Calculate your field of view to check your sensor coverage.

The construction uses six all-glass elements in an IP67-sealed aluminum barrel with BBAR coating, and the total weight is only 6g. That all-glass stack usually holds up better than a plastic hybrid when outdoor temperatures move around. Order CIL162-F2.0-M12A650 with the 650nm IR cut filter for daylight-only use, or order CIL162-F2.0-M12ANIR without the filter if you want to use the IR correction.

Mechanical compatibility is broad. FLIR Blackfly S, Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye LE, The Imaging Source, and Basler Dart all mount directly. The lens works with the Commonlands CLA018 holder (10-13mm tall mount) and other compatible M12 mounts.

Orders placed before 12 PM PST ship same day from San Diego. Volume pricing is available. Trioptics MTF test data and .STP mechanical models are available on request.
