No Distortion 4mm M12 Lens for up to 6MP 1/1.7" such as IMX678 and IMX334

The CIL042 is a 4.2mm M12 lens for 1/1.7" sensors like the IMX678, IMX334, and AR0822. It gives you a wide field without the usual wide-angle distortion penalty, which is why it is a good first option for robotics, conferencing, and embedded vision. The lens supports 5-6MP at 3μm pixel pitch and opens to F/1.9 when light is limited.

The CIL042 gives you 97° on a 1/1.7" sensor. Distortion measures -0.7% TV at 4:3 across the 9.3mm image circle, so most systems can skip software correction and keep the pipeline simple. The 8.8mm designed image circle, with 9.8mm max, also reaches 1/1.6" sensors like the AR0822 and IMX226 with room to spare. You can check angles on your sensor at field of view calculator

The optical stack uses 4 glass elements and 4 plastic elements in an aluminum barrel, and the full assembly weighs 8.7g. Three aperture variants ship from stock: F/1.9, F/2.6, and F/4.0. You should use F/1.9 when light is the constraint, and you should step down to F/2.6 or F/4.0 when a fixed-focus system needs more depth of field. You can run the working distance math

The lens fits FLIR Blackfly S, Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye LE, The Imaging Source, and Basler Dart board cameras that use standard M12x0.5 mounts. e-con Systems boards need an 8-13mm tall holder. The Commonlands CLA024 lens holder is the clean option when you are laying out your own PCB camera.
