Frequently asked questions

What sensors work with the CIL092 9mm M12 lens?

The CIL092 supports 1/1.7 inch sensors including the Sony IMX676 and IMX678, resolving 10–12MP at 1.85μm pixel pitch across the 9.2mm design image circle.

How much distortion does the CIL092 have?

The CIL092 has -3.7% rectilinear distortion measured at the 9.3mm image circle. For many machine vision applications, this is low enough to skip software distortion correction entirely.

Is the CIL092 IR corrected for day/night imaging?

Yes. The CIL092 is IR corrected to minimize longitudinal chromatic aberration across visible and near-IR wavelengths. Order CIL092-F2.6-M12ABR650 for daylight with a 650nm IRC filter, or CIL092-F2.6-M12ANIR for NIR-sensitive applications.

What M12 lens holders fit the CIL092?

The Commonlands CLA024 lens holder is the recommended mount. e-con Systems boards need a 13mm tall holder. FLIR Blackfly S, Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye LE, The Imaging Source, and Basler Dart cameras accept the CIL092 directly.

Does the CIL092 ship same day from the US?

Yes. Orders placed before 12 PM PST ship same day from Commonlands in San Diego, California.

Can I get MTF data and .STP files for the CIL092?

Yes. Contact engineering@commonlands.com for Trioptics MTF test reports and .STP 3D model files for the CIL092.

The CIL092 is a 9mm IR corrected M12 lens designed for 1/1.7" sensors up to 12MP. At F/2.6 with a 9.1mm EFL, this lens resolves 10–12MP on sensors like the Sony IMX676 and IMX678 at 1.85μm pixel pitch — a combination that puts it in a class by itself among S-mount optics in this focal length range.

The 9.2mm design image circle (10.0mm max) delivers a 55° field of view with just -3.7% rectilinear distortion. That low distortion figure means you can skip software correction for most measurement and inspection tasks, saving processing overhead in embedded systems. Use https://commonlands.com/pages/camera-field-of-view-calculator to verify exact FoV on your sensor format.

All-glass construction throughout. The IR correction is particularly useful — longitudinal chromatic aberration is minimized across visible and near-IR wavelengths, so day/night RGBIR imaging stays sharp without refocusing. Order CIL092-F2.6-M12ABR650 with the blueglass reflective 650nm IRC filter for daylight applications, or CIL092-F2.6-M12ANIR for NIR-sensitive setups.

The M12A variant ships with BBAR coating on the first lens surface. Mounts directly to FLIR Blackfly S, Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye LE, The Imaging Source, and Basler Dart board cameras. e-con Systems S-mount boards need a 13mm tall holder. The Commonlands CLA024 lens holder provides a clean mechanical interface.

In stock and ready to ship same day from San Diego before 12 PM PST. Contact our engineering team for Trioptics MTF test data, volume pricing, or .STP files for CAD integration.
