16mm M12 Lens for sensors up to 1/1.7" such as IMX226 and AR0821

The CIL160 is a 16.0mm M12 telephoto lens for 1/1.8 inch to 1/1.7 inch sensors like the IMX226 and AR0821. It gives you a 31° field of view at the 8.9mm image circle, so the lens is the right fit when an M12 package still needs real reach. That makes it useful for license plate recognition, long-range surveillance, and other applications where a compact camera has to look farther into the scene.

The lens comes in four fixed F-number options, and each one changes the trade. The F/1.9 version favors low-light work and resolves 10MP at 1.62 micron pixel pitch. The F/2.8 version is the general-purpose choice and resolves 12MP at 1.55 micron, the F/4.0 version gives you a better balance of resolution and depth of field at 12MP and 1.62 micron, and the F/5.6 version pushes depth of field the farthest while resolving 8MP at 2.1 micron pixel pitch.

Distortion is -0.5% TV at 8.9mm, so the image stays clean enough for OCR and other geometry-sensitive work. The all-glass 6G construction in an AL6061 aluminum barrel weighs 6g, which keeps the package compact for a telephoto M12. The lens is available in three mechanical variants. The M12A and M12C versions do not include ingress protection, while the M12B version adds IP67 sealing for outdoor and washdown environments. All versions accept a 650nm IR cut-off filter.
