How much distortion does the CIL050 have?
The CIL050 has -17% TV distortion, so straight lines bend noticeably near the edges. That trade is normal for a 120 degree wide-angle design and works fine for robotics navigation and surveillance. For measurement or inspection, plan on software correction or choose a low-distortion lens instead.
What is the image circle of the CIL050?
The image circle is 9.3mm, which covers 1/2 inch and 1/1.8 inch sensors with margin. The lens delivers its 120 degree diagonal field of view at that circle.
Is the CIL050 compatible with the IMX226 sensor?
Mostly, with one caveat. The Sony IMX226 has a 9.41mm diagonal and the CIL050 image circle is 9.3mm, so the extreme corners sit just outside the illuminated circle. Surveillance and navigation systems usually accept that slight corner falloff. If your application needs fully illuminated corners, contact engineering@commonlands.com for an alternative.
