IR Cut-Off Filter Switcher for M12 Lenses 7.6mm Height

IR Cut-Off Filter Switcher, 20mm Hole Spacing, 7.6mm Height, Day/Night Compensated

The CLA216-ICR is an M12 Lens IR Cut-Off Filter Exchanger (Switcher) with 7.6mm height. The exchanger has 0.30mm thickness IRC filter with a 0.21mm dummy glass filter. This glass thickness offset helps compensate for longitudinal chromatic shift between VIS and VIS+NIR. The switcher is controlled using an h-bridge that has 3.3V (forward polarity for open, reverse for close) and has a 60mm long 2-pin 1.25mm JST connector.

Frequently asked questions

What is the CLA216-ICR IR cut-off filter switcher?

The CLA216-ICR is a magnetic IR cut-off filter exchanger for M12 lens systems. It swaps between a 0.30mm 650nm IRC filter and a 0.21mm dummy glass so a camera can switch between visible and visible-plus-NIR modes without changing focus.

How do I wire and control the CLA216-ICR switcher?

You wire the 2-pin 1.25mm JST connector to an H-bridge driver and apply 3.3V for 100-500ms. Forward polarity, with positive on the red lead, opens the filter, and reverse polarity closes it.

What is the IRC glass cutoff wavelength on the CLA216?

The D263T glass substrate has a T=50% cutoff at 645±10nm. That cutoff blocks most infrared energy above that point so daylight color stays accurate.

How many lifecycles does the CLA216-ICR support?

Commonlands guarantees at least 50,000 switching cycles. Field deployments often exceed 100,000 cycles, but the guaranteed rating remains 50,000.

Which M12 lenses work with the CLA216-ICR filter switcher?

The CLA216-ICR works with any Commonlands M12 lens ordered in the M12ANIR variant. Pair it with the lens and a Commonlands CLA019 or CLA024 lens holder for a complete assembly.

Does the CLA216-ICR ship same day from the US?

Yes. Commonlands ships in-stock accessories same day from San Diego for orders placed before 12 PM PST.

The CLA216-ICR is a compact IR cut-off filter switcher for M12 lens assemblies with 20mm hole spacing and a 7.6mm height profile. It switches between a 0.30mm thick 650nm IR cut filter and a 0.21mm dummy glass, so the optical path stays compensated when the camera moves between VIS and VIS+NIR modes.

The magnetic drive uses a 20Ω coil and a 2-pin 1.25mm JST connector. You drive it with 3.3V for 100-500ms, where forward polarity opens and reverse closes. The operating range is 3.0-5.0V. The D263T glass substrate has a T=50% cutoff at 645±10nm, which is the range most day and night camera builds want for normal color in daylight.

The unit is rated for a minimum 50,000 lifecycles, and field data supports 100k+ in controlled environments. The matched glass thickness between the IRC and dummy filters keeps back focal length stable between modes, so you do not have to refocus every time the filter moves.

The CLA216-ICR pairs with any Commonlands M12 lens ordered in the NIR variant, labeled M12ANIR, for a day and night camera build. It works well with 1/2.8" to 1/1.7" sensors. Check your sensor's IRC requirements first, then use field of view calculator for field-of-view planning.

The CLA216-ICR is in stock at our San Diego warehouse. Orders placed before 12 PM PST ship same day worldwide.
